Plant Supervisor

About the role

We are a biotech company specialised in the production of SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) eggs, an essential substrate for vaccine manufacturing. Our facilities in Cascante operate under European Pharmacopoeia standards and USDA regulations, with continuous veterinary supervision and end-to-end traceability. We are looking for a supervisor and team coordinator responsible for ensuring that the tasks assigned to each person are carried out and verified every day. This is a hands-on role with a constant presence in the working areas, not a desk job.

Responsibilities

• Line management of the animal care team: task assignment, shifts and cover.
• Daily on-site verification of critical tasks: feeding, water, environmental conditions and animal care routines.
• Plant walkthroughs using checklists, recording the results.
• Ensuring every incident reported by staff is escalated and resolved, following up until closure.
• Immediate reporting of any relevant deviation to the Operations Management.
• Operational decision-making in the absence of the Operations Manager.
• Proposing improvements to control routines and working procedures.
• Record-keeping and documentation in line with quality system requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a supervisor, foreman or shift leader in production environments (minimum 3 years managing a team).
• Demonstrable rigour in the use of records, checklists and control systems.
• Ability to lead staff and enforce compliance.
• Availability to join us in Cascante (Navarre). On-site position.
• A plus: experience in poultry farms, animal facilities or biological production, and training in veterinary medicine, animal science, agricultural sciences or similar.
